While I hate the fact that a large number of students are getting hurt by the abuse of various substances, this is not the way to address the issue.  If people want to escape from reality they will do so one way or another--the real concern should be why do they feel the need to escape?  What can be changed in their surroundings that can allow them to enjoy life chemically free? 

Also I thought it was very telling that this intrusive program was funded via a federal grant.

Well I happen t agree with the initiative, usually teenagers are more vulnerable to drugs and we need to be aware of that, if anybody has a better idea he is free to share it with us. Drug treatment center

Sad that i live in new jersey, not for long but if i was to show up in school and they tried to test me, i would refuse and if i was told i could not i would walk out of school.

There are a lot of rules when referring to bar placement. I think they are not allowed to have a bar in less then a hundred yards worth of range. drug rehab treatment

My mom used to give me a small glass of bourbon when I had a cough, a treatment I still practice myself (and sometimes without a cough :). People freak out when I tell them this, and then I show them the active ingredients in cough syrup.

"grandpa's cough syrup" Warmed up brown liquor, lemon, and honey. I just discovered bourbon, which one do you recommend. I visited family in KY recently and went to a few of the distilleries, I want to make my own, but that is against the law (and I would NEVER break the law ;-) )
