Warped Tour '05

The tour offer free tables to non-profit organizations. Apparently almost no one knows about this so it’s easy to get them even at the last minute. People were really excited to hear about what we do because most of them had just been accosted by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), who was imploring them to stop eating KFC. Most of the people there felt alienated by PETA. (As one guy put it, “They told me I can’t eat KFC anymore. Ain’t no way you going to tell a black man not to eat his chicken.” And this is a direct quote I promise.) So they really liked hearing what we had to say, which was more along the lines of, “We want the government to stop acting like your nanny. We want you to have the freedom to make decisions for yourself.” This is definitely something we have to do on a much bigger scale next year.

I'd be interested in doing this when the tour comes to the DC Metro area. I want to spread the word and a concert like this seems like a good place to do it. Think the tour will have any actual punk bands this year? Yeah, me neither.

Is anyone else doing this in the North East? We're trying to organize a caraven for the Free State Project, so please give me a shout at b1ueemu at g mail or b1ueemu on aim. Thanks!
