Bureaucrash HQ and members of the network are constantly at work producing propaganda. We take the sometimes complicated reasons why large governments and bloated bureaucracies are dangerous and condense them into slogans, images and quick statistics. We call these little packets of information ‘memes.
These memes come in a lot of different forms. Sometimes they are in bits of text. Sometimes they are on flyers or full color posters. Sometimes they are on e-cards or t-shirts. Sometimes they are centered on whole campaign websites. They can even be in the lyrics of a song. Every time we produce an item with a meme on it, we include a web address (usually leading right back here to Bureaucrash.com).
People interested in the meme can learn more about the ideas behind it online. They also can join Bureaucrash if they agree with our ideas, download more resources with memes and continue to spread the meme.
Every time you do even a tiny bit of work to put a meme out there, you are not simply spreading an idea. You are also recruiting more people to spread the ideas even further.
This domino effect is at the heart of what is sometimes called guerilla activism. A tiny number of scattered people, can change the world because every action they take has the potential to spread to a whole chain of people.
The Bureaucrash network exists to make this possible.
The political war of the 21st century will be a war of ideas and
images. An information war. The defenders and developers of the machine
state and its sprawling bureaucracy have initiated this war.
Bureaucrash's Ministry of Propaganda is a way of fighting back in this
guerrilla war of ideas.
We want to encourage and aid the development of weapons for this
information war. fliers that can be plastered in public spaces. Images
that can capture an idea. Reports on demonstrations and activities that
can inspire other activists. Designs that can transform a public
computer into a kiosk for political information. Words and images that
can spread like a virus through cyberspace.
Feel free to modify these at will to promote your organization (but
keep the Bureaucrash web address on so people hear about us too). We
hope that you will submit your ideas, reports and designs for posting
on this site to our headquarters at HQ.
Fliers
The mainstay of Bureaucrash style activism. A flyer can combine images,
slogans and arguments into an easy to reproduce format. They can also
direct people to resources online that can get them more information.
In the information war, flyers are our standard side arm. One of the
most powerful, quick and least expensive tools for activism is the
flyer. They can be parodies of left wing flyers in your areas or
serious political messages. They can be textual or highly graphical.
Make sure you print a web address at the bottom to get more people
involved. The most popular size is 11 x 8.5 inches.
Desktop Wallpapers
Design an image with words and/or pictures featuring a political
message, a url and save it as a gif or jpg. Now take the image and
either post it on the web or put it on a disk. Wallpaper activism takes
place on public computers like libraries, computer labs, research areas
etc. Either get on the internet or insert your disk onto the drive and
open the file. Right click on the image and select "set as wallpaper."
The image - and its message - will be seen by everyone who uses the
computer. Popular Wallpaper sizes are 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 pixels.
Viral Emails
Bureaucrash activism depends on activism breeding new activists.
Activism should move through youth culture like a virus, with each new
person reached being a new potential Crasher. Viral emails are a
perfect example of this phenomenon. They are emails with a searing
statistic or fact - a short message designed to make a person rethink
their political assumption. A viral email should also have an appeal to
forward to as many people as possible - and should have the bureaucrash
web address at the bottom. As an activist all you do is input addresses
and send out a meme across the web to whoever you can think of.
Images
If you have an interest in graphical design or graphic arts, we can use
your talents. Images are powerful - often much more powerful than a
word. If you have an idea for an interesting photo, graphic, drawing,
design, short motion picture or even photo essay, we want to see it and
use it to promote freedom. Even if you don''t have an idea but have an
ability to work with graphics and want to get involved, we can help you
develop images that will be useful in our cause. Stickers
Stickers
A great way to spread a message. Image files can easily be transferred
into stickers. You or your cell group can plaster them anywhere and
they''ll stay up for a while. You can also put piles of them in places
like record and book stores where people tend to pick them up and
re-use them. Putting a web address on a sticker increases the chances
that someone can learn more about our ideas via the web.
Articles
Bureaucrash wants to post your words about pop culture, freedom, music,
politics and the bureaucracy. Write us with your ideas at
hq@bureaucrash.com. Publishing such articles in local publications can
be an excellent way to fight the information war and we can help.
Banners
Show people that visit your website that you are a freedom fighter. Placing a banner on your website today.
E-Cards
Our version of the electronic postcard. They can be forwarded endlessly
to reaching thousands upon thousands of people. The same goes for cool
''viral'' emails that call for action or reflection.
Reports
Progress in organizing a cell group. An idea that has had an impact on
your community. A form of creative activism that defies any other
categorization. Post these here and let them inspire crashers from
across the country.
Slogans
A phrase that makes a point in a different way; a statistic that says
more than an hour long argument. These are what we mean by slogans.
Post your ideas for slogans or your useful statistics and let them
benefit crashers across the globe.
Stickers
Great to stick on highly visible public property and when you have permission, private property.
